The restaurant has nice decor overall. The outside doesn't look so attractive but if you come in you won't regret it. I am a Hispanic and the food was overall ok. I ordered a burrito al carbon with a lemonade. The dish was not balanced it was only rice and beans with a burrito in the center. Most dishes are balanced. But the menu did say explicitly that was the things on the dish. My lemonade was not fresh hand made. It was Tropicana. Overall I was very satisfied. My serve is great and was very attentive. I came in a ate in 30 minutes in a low period of traffic. They have entertainment on the weekends but it's something that I still need to see.

The good: Very clean and spacious, greeted well by host and hostess, seated quickly, very attentive wait staff, free chips and salsa, festive atmosphere. The bad: Nothing really bad. The average: The food. It's good but not great. Very similar to many of the Mexican restaurants in this region. Ground beef, beans and rice are relatively bland and need salsa or sauce. A lot. At least for my tastes. I got the burrito, enchilada and taco combo with beans and rice and wife got stuffed chicken quesadilla with a side of rice. We both got margaritas - frozen and on the rocks. So we tried a bit of everything and paid more for drinks than food (only 3 total margaritas folks so I'm not THAT bad of a drinker). The deep fried tacos in the table next to us looked better though. We might be back and we might not. Just don't expect too much and you'll be okay.

Coco Loco! This restaurant building has changed identities numerous times over the years, and now it has gone loco - Coco Loco, that is. The interior is very festive - everywhere you look there is bright color, patterns, painted scenes. There's a band stage right inside the door. In front of the stage there's a large running fountain. There's a bar on the upper level with the largest blue-rimmed margarita glasses I have ever seen (I went during lunch, so I did not partake). The tables and chairs also have colorful scenes on them - the festivity does not stop! My mom and I ordered the chimichanga lunch special and it was delicious. The chimi was a good size, topped with that delectable white cheese sauce, and on the side there were large sides of refried beans, rice, guacamole and lettuce/tomato garnish. Before our plates came out, we went to town on the free chips and salsa - also delicious. This would be a fun place to go for a weekend dinner and/or gigantic margarita(s).

Chips and salsa are a great free appetizer to look forward to. The veggie fajitas are tasty, especially the mushrooms (I do wish they'd include more of them). The biggest downside to this restuarant is mariachi night. The band isn't horrible, but they are too loud and too close the the tables. I think using the stage would make more sense.

This place serves authentic mexican. There was lot of space and the ambience was very lively. The service was amazing, the waitess changed the sauce according to our taste. The place seems to have live band which we missed as we went for lunch not dinner. The food tasted fresh and original. The menu had lot of amazing options. We will surely visit again for dinner.

Was excited to finally eat here after all the good things I've heard about it. I was so not disappointed. I ordered the menudo. It came with a side salad. It was really big and delicious. All the veggies were beyond fresh and crisp. The menudo was among the best I've ever had and I ate the entire bowl! Can't wait to go back to try something else.

A little more expensive than their sister restaurant el mexicano but the food is fast and always great. Love the #4 lunch and never disappointing.

I am disappointed with the food. It's all from cans and mixed together. Ending up, like what I imagine cat food might taste like. It's really sad because the place looks wonderful... The service was great... The prices are fine... But the food does not match. (I would pay more for better food) It's a shame Coco Loco didn't put more into their food as they did their advertising and decor. I'm so sad about this biz - I was hoping for better.

My husband and I tried this place for dinner and had mixed reactions and a different experience from the other posters. The decor is awfully loud and obnoxious. I felt like I was at Zocalo in Disneyland. The host was cute, the server was painfully new and while he was very nice, he probably should have had more training before he was let loose on customers. The two "medium" drinks were gigantic but lacked the alcohol and were more than half of our total bill. I can't ever say I have been to a restaurant that had sizes like 7-11 for their Margaritas. The chips and salsa typically indicate how the food will ultimately be, and they were delicious! To the point I wanted to take the carafe of salsa home. Yum. And the chips were fresh and crispy. Which now leads me to the food. So good. So good. He had chicken fajita salad and I had shrimp tostadas. The flavor on both was incredible. Not sure why people are saying their food comes from a can because I can assure you this was all fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back... For take-out.

Had a small party, about 20 including kids. Very nice, friendly, and fun server (Perla). Food was good, drinks, but the service made the evening. We had my wife and 3 other family members birthday party, server was attentive, and knew how to have fun with her guests while keeping it professional.

Typical Mexican decor and loud. The food is very bland but the salsa and chips were very good! The staff is awesome but I would not recommend due to the blandness and store bought food stuff.

The service here was incredible. Our server, Roy, was always checking in and made sure we had everything we needed through the meal. The food here is great, but the staff took the experience to the next level. We will definitely be coming back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
